What are the main reasons for the price fluctuation in the utility billing market?

  • 12-28-2020

The global utility billing market prices are volatile; it varies by location, time, and other circumstances. It may sound strange but sometimes the same reason, such as a political situation or an economical crisis, can lead to an increase or decrease in tax prices in different regions. Price fluctuation depends on numerous different kinds of issues. Electricity has the most expensive utility bills among the three major components (Gas, Water, Electricity).

The lowest electricity bills are in the New Mexico market in this industry, while Germany has the highest prices around the world.

Annually, Hydro-Québec compares the monthly electricity bills of Québec customers in the residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors with those of customers of the various utilities serving 21 major North American cities. According to Hydro-Quebec studies, Montreal billing prices were lowest in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 years among North American cities.
